From inception, it was meant to be. Writer-producer Izzy Kay fought it for a while. Writer-producer-director Janna King didn’t want to push. But the more they worked together, the more it made sense for this daughter-mother team to form Riveter Entertainment.

With a meld of perseverance and mild delusion, Janna has forged her way through decades of experience writing for film and television - live action and animation - working with the likes of Lifetime, Hallmark, CBS, WB and Disney. As a producer and director, her credits include TV series, award-winning short films, music videos, commercials, original plays and digital content. She’s also an author, with two published novels and a children’s book.

Born to break barriers and laugh in the face of a “no”, Izzy initially refused the genetic call to be a writer but capitulated in junior high when she wrote her first screenplays, including a rock opera (she’s also a singer-songwriter-guitarist for the rock band Jane Doe). She’s co-written features and TV pilots with Janna and on her own, has developed TV movie concepts for companies such as Mar Vista and Tubi. In addition, she’s also found success optioning novels for film and TV adaptation.

Both Janna and Izzy cut their teeth as professional readers (different generations; unfortunately, same pay), doing coverage on countless scripts, which has helped them understand and adapt to fickle industry appetites. They live by the credo of “where there’s a will, there’s a way”. The keys: a collaborative spirit, a workhorse ethic and a “no asshole” policy. With Riveter Entertainment, the goal is to make stuff. It’s that simple, because when creative minds come together with a wholehearted common goal - magic happens.
